What We've Been Up To.....

Where to begin.... We have downloaded so many pictures lately I am wondering how all these pictures will ever make their way into scrapbooks. Hopefully, I can get somewhat caught up during my maternity leave (hey, at least I have a plan to do it!) It has been wonderful, exhausting, exciting, emotional ride this past week but I wouldn't change anything. Shane has been so wonderful to cook and clean and has done countless loads of dishes and laundry. (What an awesome Daddy and husband! I Love you!) He also cleaned out the garage Saturday so I can actually park my van in there. Shane has also kept Landon busy and entertained for the past week with help from all the grandparents who were wonderful with him!!!

Daddy and Landon have done so many activites from playdough with dinosaurs, to puzzles, painting, going to the park, legos, trains, and playing in the backyard. It was great having the whole family home for the week to just spend time together, snuggle on the couch, and just to take time out from our busy schedules. Slowing down helps you stop and see that childhood doesn't last for long. I just want to soak in every moment .

Landon has enjoyed having the baby around and will come running when he hears him crying. People have asked about him feeling jealous but I just don't see it. He will try to comfort him by talking to him and giving him big hugs. The hugs are so cute but we have to watch him as he hugs him and does not seem to want to stop. That is, unless baby starts to cry while he is holding him and he says "Here Mama, take the baby." He loves his baby brother and seems to enjoy having him around.

And last but not least, the baby is such an angel! I know I'm partial and have fallen in love with the little guy but he just complements our family so well. He has such a calm temperment and is just so easy-going. He has done really well and we are all adjusting to all the changes. He really is a quiet baby and sleeps most of the day away. I wait for the rare times when he is alert and love getting little smiles. I did get a big smile and a little laugh one afternoon. I was on the computer and he put his foot up as if to get my attention. I kissed his little toes and he just smiled so big and seemed to give me a little laugh. They say babies usually don't smile for several weeks~ it was just so special!!!

The pediatrician at the hospital told us last Monday that he had a touch of jaundice and wanted to follow up the next day. Dr. Cory said that it was not at a level where we should be greatly concerned but that we need to watch him closely. He was still at about a 9 on Tuesday (they would have him come in for treatment at a 13 or 14) and had lost 9 1/2 oz. from his birth weight so we were asked to come back the following day. He weighed 8 lb. 14 oz. the next day so he gained around 2 1/2 oz. overnight! The Dr. was gave us a thumbs up and asked me to check the jaundice several times each day under flouescent lights. It has cleared a little more each day. We were told it will just take time but it is hardly noticeable under the lights this morning.

We would like to post the pictures to a website for Cameron, but for time's sake I will probably post them here for now. It is hard because I want to share them all! Hopefully, we will get a family website going before long.

Thanks for the update, it sounds like things are going so well. I'm glad to hear that Landon is reacting so beautifully that has to make it so much easier. Doesn't it just melt your heart completely when he kisses his little brother? Little Cameron is just beautiful and the pictures are great and yes, you will have to make sure they get into your scrapbook. You do such a good job with that and I know it will be appreciated for years to come. God bless you all!

I'm so happy that everyone is well and it's so nice to be together. Cameron is just beautiful, of course, and I'll refrain from trying to figure out who he looks like- I'm sure you've gotten enough of that.

I love his nursery, it's just beautiful. Is that room your old office?

Landon is so big and looks so happy. I can hardly wait to see you guys- hopefully soon

What a beautiful blog! I wanted to come home right away and post but I've had such a jam packed month of activities that I am behind again on my blog writing as well as my blog reading....Landon isn't jealous because he has received his usual amount of love and attention! Perhaps even more.....

Mary~ You always know just what to say! Isn't it great having two little boys to love...

Amy~ That was actually Landon's old room. Shane painted the nursery and the guest room which became Landon's new train room! Landon loves it because there is so much more room for his toys.

We hope to see you guys again soon. Come visit when you can!

Joyce~ Thanks to you guys Landon always gets lots of attention. BTW, he loves the ABC puzzle and announced that the little kitty cat is his "favorite" toy. So cute!

I followed the link from Mary's site. Big congratulations for your family! I knew that you were pregnant via Amy and Trav and actually thought to inquire about how long until the little guy was born at Amanda's birthday party...but you'd had him that night! The pictures are beautiful. You look beautiful. Coming from the mommy of two boys (and a girl)...the brother thing is AMAZING! The bond only grows and it continually warms my heart. Grant and Dean have bunk beds, but Grant never wants to sleep on top...they like cramming into the bottom bunk together. The other night we checked on them before retiring for the night and they were cuddled up together! Boys are so sweet. Congratulations again- fun times are ahead!

Tisra,
Thanks for your kind comments! We definitely have a lot to look forward to. The bunk bed story is adorable! I can't wait for soccer games and camping trips!
