This year we did something a little different for Shane's Birthday. So, Friday night Melissa watched the boys and we headed to Gaylord Palms for the ICE Exhibit! This was our first time although we have talked about going plenty of times before. We heard from different people how cold it is so we bundled up (I actually brought ear muffs from when I lived in TN.) It was actually 9 degrees throughout the exhibit and by the end my toes were so numb. They give you coats because of the temp and also because there are slides so you don't get your behind all wet and then freeze your butt off ! So Thoughful! Anyway, there were different rooms to walk through with a toyshop, trains, polar bears, a beautiful nativity, and much more. The slides were fun and the lines weren't too bad. We heard that the layout and sculptures are different each year which only makes sense I guess. The team of artists travel here from China and their work is amazing. Everything was just so beautiful and intricate and it was all just very impressive! I definitely would go back in a heartbeat and would love to take the kids someday. It seemed to put us more in a Christmas mood as well after freezing for a little while. They added an ice skating rink this year too which looked fun but we didn't get to go as it was raining the night we went and we ran out of time. Maybe next year!

What a great picture of you two. They have the same thing here at our Gaylord but we've never gone. I've always heard wonderful things about it and I've heard people say that their kids loved it, so maybe next year we'll have to take Owen.

I hate to admit it but in all the years we've lived in Nashville we've never gone either. It looks like you had a fabulous time too. I also had no idea that it was 9 degrees inside. I figured it must be cold but I was figuring it would be in the 20's or 30's- I guess they have to account for body heat and all that. I'd really like to take the girls next year, it looks like so much fun.

It is definitely worth checking out and the kids will love the slides! They had an umlimited pass which was only around $10 more. It seemed like a good idea so that you can take friends or relatives back with you when they come into town.
