Not Too Shabby

but just shabby enough for baby girl! The pediatrician will be happy to know there is no cracked or peeling paint here. Of course in the future we might go for a light green dresser or old cabinet but for now we will work with what we've got. I was just thinking that we probably spent a lot less on this nursery than we did with the boys. Maybe I have become more frugal or maybe it is just the type of decor I was going for. Edited to say that it was probably because of the fabulous baby shower given by my MIL and Mom! They made sure she had her bedding and butterflies for the wall!!! Either way it is almost finished minus her initials on the wall and a painting from a special someone. For now Kyleigh has not officially moved in and is quite happy in her pack n play but she does love to hang out in there with all the butterflies and carries on conversations with them. A certain big brother also loves hanging butterflies and will tear them down any chance he gets and will smash the wire hanging ball causing distress for Mommy. At least you can somewhat work it back into shape.

Yes~ the plastic is still on the lampshade that I found on clearance at Pottery Barn Kids

I found the valance at a yard sale and it matched pretty well. An interior designer had made it and it was a great find for 5 bucks.

Beautiful! At least you referred to me as a "special someone" and not at the wretched Aunt Amy that has yet to send her painting. I actually just varnished it yesterday. I promise it's on it's way soon.

Oh!!! It really makes me wish I had a girl. What a beautiful room. I may have to decorate a girl room for my neices or something. Or...maybe just for me.

Amy~ No worries! We will be happy to see it anytime it arrives! I remember when my Mom used to make stained glass windows for people. Sometimes they got their gifts a year after they got married but it was always special because she put so much care into it!
