Ahhhhhh..... Vacation!!!!!

We had a nice time resting and relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Destin! We were able to enjoy poolside massages, facials, and manicures, and our every need was met for an entire week at our all-inclusive resort! Right! Are you kidding me? We are the parents of a rambucious toddler who is a perpetual ball of energy! We kept up with him, but we were exhausted at the end of each night. I think we could of used those massages after all!

The Inn where we stayed is located inside The Village at Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin. We fell in love with this little community last year on vacation and really appreciated all the charm and character. There is something for everyone -- boutiques, eateries, quaint little shops, and plenty of children's activities! It is so fun just to stroll around and explore!

We started each morning with Starbucks coffee, which turned into venti size by the end of the week! Then we would do something fun, like trying out the new castle-style playground complete with a water mister, taking the bike rentals down to the beach, and SHOPPING!

Landon's favorites were the three "W's": water, walking, and wheels. He loved going back and forth from the kid pool to "the big one." He enjoyed walking free throughout the village and taking in all the events. And he practically rode off with a golf cart, saying "Want to drive it," each time he laid eyes on one. And I must say this, Landon showed himself to be a patient little man during the long drive. He was impressive!

We had to leave early on Friday because of Dennis. It took four hours to go 1o miles due to all the tourists evacuating the area. We even had Tropical Storm Cindy pay us a visit earlier in the week. Whew!

Landon and Shane sang "Happy Birthday" to me over and over on the way home, and after the singing Landon would ask, "Where's Mama's cake?" We just had to laugh as he kept on asking all the way home! The day after we got home He and Shane baked the best cake (triple chocolate was a good choice Shane)! We had a little party complete with banner, balloons, and horns. What guys! I'll defintely remember this birthday.

I will post some pictures soon!

That's when you take your in-laws on vacation with you so they can play with Landon while you get your massages and go shopping, etc! Just kidding.....
